Brougham This carriage was designed by Lord Henry Brougham, an English statesman. Broughams were a smaller coach that was usually driven by one horse. Because they were smaller and could be owner driven they became popular among the middle class as well as the upper class. The Northwest Carriage Museum's brougham was manufactured by Brewster for Mrs. Grace Masury of Long Island, New York. She purchased it in 1908 for $1200.
